Spirit Sense
The evidence for consciousness continuing beyond the physical life is not limited to near death experiences, past life regressions, between life regressions, death bed visitations, or even mystical experiences. There is anecdotal evidence of deceased loved ones visiting people to tell them they are okay. Sometimes, people will have these experiences before they even know their loved one is dead. Sometimes people who are not even related, like medical staff, experience after death communications. It seems like many people are willing to accept that we as a species don’t fully understand the meaning or full potentiality/implications of life or consciousness, much less the possibility of continuance after this life, so why is the possibility of an afterlife so difficult for non-experiencers?
Jeffry Mishlove’s award winning essay, Beyond the Brain: The Survival of Human Consciousness After Permanent Bodily Death, opens with the following quote:
Single facts can never be “proved” except by their coherence in a system. But, as all facts come singly, anyone who dismisses them one by one is destroying the conditions under which the conviction of new truth could arise in the mind.1 F. C. S. Schiller Philosophy Professor Oxford University.
