Yes, you know you have asked this question. Bigfoot has been with us a long time, in myth, in lore, in legends, on the front of tabloids. Is Bigfoot real? That is beyond the scope of this essay, but I will so argue. This author is incorrigibly hopeful. This cryptid has been with him since childhood, in some form or fashion. Are archetypes real? If you’re going to read this essay in the right spirit, allow me to quote Bill Murray, Stripes- ‘that’s a fact, Jack.’
Before we breakdown the myth, we really need to discuss humans. The bigman, Bigfoot, Sasquatch, the Abominable Snowman, Yeti, Yeren, Yowie, Sokqueatl, or Sesquac has a relationship with many cultures. Yes, a bigfoot by any other name, would never smell as sweet as a freshly bathed Wookie in space. Did you ever wonder if the Millennium Falcon smells like wet dog? Does Han Solo remove hair from his clothes with a lint brush? And how come there are no dogs in Star Wars, but there are falcons?
