As a person who has suffered with mental health, and works in mental health, I am often surprised how often PTSD (or other trauma related diagnoses) are overlooked. Did you know, PTSD in children frequently gets labeled ADHD? Treatment for ADHD when it's trauma usually doesn't lead to improved outcomes.

There just isn't enough trauma qualified professionals to treat the demand. I wonder, though, if we could do more trauma work, would we see less BDP? Parents struggling with addictions also seem to be at greater risk of having kids with BDP. There is a good guess, if parent is using, they're likely self medicating past trauma... Generational abuse and BDP correlation?

Should a person with PTSD also be diagnosed with GAD, or should we treat the trauma first and see if the anxiety comes down?
