Calm Reflections On an Alien Mothership

Now that my feet are back on the ground, can you and I figure out what’s going on with these reports on aliens?

“There is a possibility that extraterrestrial motherships and smaller probes may be visiting planets in our solar system, the head of the Pentagon’s unidentified aerial phenomena research office noted in a report draft shared Tuesday.” That made the news today. Is there any other news more groundbreaking than that? Do you suppose that statement will get walked back, like the day the military said they were in possession of a crashed alien ship in Roswell?

There are other things in this article that stand out as problematic. Whoever wrote it doesn’t seem to know galaxy from the solar system.

Loeb, on the other hand, gained notoriety when he proposed our galaxy had been traversed by its first visitor from outer space in October 2017. At that time, the PanSTARRS telescope in Hawaii detected an object moving through our solar system at a speed that caused some scientists to suggest it was from another galaxy. The object’s orbit also hinted at other forces besides the sun’s gravitational pull influencing its movement.

That should read ‘when he proposed our solar system was traversed by its first visitor…” I mean, it could be galactic, if Omuamua was not just an interstellar object, but was also an intergalactic object.

But let’s give the writer the benefit of the doubt. When the Pentagon says something like this, is that person or office speculating? Instead of repeating this in a paper, shouldn’t the journalist be asking some questions?

Should this read “there is speculative information that UFOs are aliens?” If so, what data makes that statement more accurate than the million times UFOs is aliens has been spoken since 1975?

Did we skip something here? The government has all but said UFOs are aliens. Now to jump to mother ships in the solar system, shouldn’t that be accompanied by overwhelming evidence to back that statement up?

Where’s the extraordinary evidence? Where are the scientist asking for more data? Where are the reporters asking for clarification?
