Jeff Olsen discusses his near death experience in the video linked below. He discusses the event that changed his life, a car accident that resulted in the death of his wife of 10 years, and his youngest child. He discusses his fault in this, likely falling asleep at the wheel. He discusses his anger and unforgiveness of himself, even with God. God assures him, we still love you, ‘you can be angry if you want’ sort of thing. He reports being angry at his wife, and she iterated God’s message, you can be angry if you want, but “Please, choose Joy.”

Whether you use the anecdotal reports of NDEs as evidence for something more, or a metaphorical way of coming to terms with the reality this physical life has a termination point, the data is useful. Everything is data. Every word we use. Every word we don’t use. The silence, the duration of silence, between notes carries meaning.
