Communing with Nature
I have had some wild animal encounters that have certainly influenced the way I think about animals. The squirrels at university probably don’t count as completely wild, as they are accustomed to seeing folks, probably even getting fed by folks, but squirrels and I go way back. I’ve determined they’re my spirit animals. I really tried to own a dolphin as a spirit animal, but I acknowledge the squirrel. I understand it. It’s much more wise and powerful than one might assume. I wonder, though, what it means if an octopus chooses you.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been in the wild water. Even longer since I last went scuba diving. I have never met an octopus. I have met some sharks. Like up close, reach out and touch them close. At the time I did my Stewart’s Cove Dive at Nassau there was a pretty good sized lobster on the side of the cliff. I don’t remember if they had named him, but he was so big I wondered if they had been feeding him.
This octopus video is a must see, especially if you would like to kind of slow your world and get out of the human world for a moment. To the degree you can.
