UFO/UAP
Humans are an interesting lot, especially when it comes to our psychological defenses. It’s well known for example, in Psychology and Buddhism, if a person feels hate towards someone it usually denotes a subconscious recognition of a personal trait one has repressed and projected out onto other. More often than not, we are not triggered by the outside world but rather by something inside us.
Even love, a favored human emotions, might not be completely about the outside world, but something a human has or choses and projects onto the world. Altruism can be suspect if a person is subconsciously helping others in order to meet a personal, psychological need, as opposed to genuine, conscious decision to aid. It doesn’t mean the altruism isn’t needed or wanted even if there are psychological undercurrents influencing a person to be benevolent. There are worse illness to have. Perhaps those that continue to give after they are depleted, or when they can’t see they are being manipulated or used, and or have grievances when they need help and there seems to be no one there for them- this suggest at minimum a functional boundary that allows a measure to observe when altruism becomes pathological.
Not helping at all could be pathological, too, especially when a person has a means to be more helpful. Most people agree hoarding is a subconscious vector…
