The Scoop on Poop
Hopefully you can tolerate a scientific discussion on fecal matter. Apparently, fecal health matters. The most important take away from this starting point is that you, all humans, do not live in isolation. You could not exist, would actually die, if there were no bacteria. Humans are hosts to flora and fauna, and our biomes are so specifically tailored to us that it can be as easily identified as distinctly you, just like a fingerprint or DNA. If you want to know the health of an organism, start with a stool sample. That sample might tell you more about an animal than just their diet.
No joke, this really happened. There was a person who was skinny all her life. She had a specific type of cancer. The treatment of that cancer required that she have her body irradiated to such a degree, it killed all flora and fauna on her and in her. It was necessary to replace that biome with a transplant. A fecal transplant. There was one family member deemed the best candidate. This person had struggled with weight all her life.
After the transplant, the skinny person inexplicably began to gain weight. She had no change in diet or exercise. As her weight went up, she began dieting and increasing her exercise level. This did not help. She continued to gain weight. It was determined, by her…
