I am sorry for your pain. Nothing hurts worse than pain. I hope that got a smile! :)
There are alternative things that work. Biofeedback has worked for me. Medication tended to make things worse for me, as i would get things like rebound headaches... reducing stress and year of chiropractor got my migraines down... I read papers about how humor helps- but, damn it- in the moment i am not wanting humor or biofeedback... migraines are under control, i have some physical pains- and I am cursing getting old...
chronic pain just sucks... I hear that you're suffering, but even in that I don't know what it's like for you. I imagine being house bound increases suffering because there is limit to distractions? getting out in nature supposedly helps pain, distraction can work for a moment, but feels like it's limited...
I wonder if you have someone to speak to? I am thinking counselor, but sometimes even a friend- engaging others can be helpful. Counseling can sometimes increase coping, though clearly it doesn't remove a physical issue...
