I don't really see balloon. I am more likely to accept that over the bug theory... However, did you watch the video? It is moving fairly quick, relative to the clouds, which it passes through...

Now, I am still open to a terrestrial explanation. I know a lot about balloons. Also, notice the trees- not a lot of indication of surface winds- the object doesn't seem to be very high. You can have winds aloft that aren't at ground level, but I have crewed for balloons- I don't think this is a balloon.

But, I will give you, your objection is fair- you're trying to make sense of it. That said, the application of your logic question of why isn't applicable. Hypothetically, if it's aliens, and no one is saying this is aliens, how can we project a human motivation on them? Can we assume logic is applied somewhere? I would hope, but if this is been going on 70 years- and many sightings were fleeting- there is no way to answer a 'why' question. Unsolvable 'why' question doesn't rule out aliens.

You're right. It doesn't make sense. We need to know a lot more.
