I suppose it begs the question, why isn't there more philosophical quieries into this area. What I have read so far of Dusen's work fits well with Kardec's spiritulaist views.

It would seem the viel we take on is more a filter to minimize influence from the realm so we might have an opportunity to practice free will. It's still permeable, perhaps to the ideas and influences of things we need to confront of contend with for advancement, but not everything all at once- which means every thought could be suspect and necessary to contemplate before being moved to response. That's not too incompatible with psychology and neural science in terms of the brain regulates internal and external data and uploads a conclusion into the 'conscious' mind after the fact.
