I would be happy to entertain your family and friends, since my peeps are tired of me droning on... I am still optimistic, perhaps naively so. I have no rational, or irrational, argument that lessens the impact of several of your observations; "Government as ultimate arbiter of truth... they (government) are only interested in protecting themselves..." Can humans escape the need for a gatekeeper? We are born into families where the parents are the gatekeepers. Was it different in the past? We were co-educators, not owners? Can we be responsible for others while also recognizing individual sovereignty? Raising kids was an exercise in raising person to adult level independence, but we all too soon shuffle person to another system of gatekeepers, who mature them to another level of gatekeepers (college.) and from there they move into another level of gatekeepers (employment...) While it is true that government may be covering their collective assess here, I mean, assets, could it be that UFOs are reminding them of who the real gatekeepers are? I would find that ironically hopeful.
