I would like to infer the nuclear/ufo incidents mean something, like a humanity wake up call, this is dangerous. I suppose it's a leap to go there, but why else would they turn things off and on? I wonder had they turned the US on and the Russians off, would the conversation be different? Do you suppose Russia called the US, 'sorry to inform you, but we have UFOs turning counting us down...' If they had, would that have resulted in a real disarmament talk?

From a narrative therapy perspective, in which all things in a dream or story are meaningful- the proliferation of nuclear weapons is a death sentence. Every prominent artifact in a story sense has to be used. I mean, consider Tolkien's LOTOR, specifically 'the one ring to rule them all.' Could you have that whole series and no one ever put that cursed ring on? Even Doctor Strangelove couldn't save the world.

And so as we move towards hyper-sonics, and faster delivery systems- we still have folks who believe war is winnable. I know my math is bad, but damn it, hasn't everyone done the math and realized nukes are bad?
