Is the Matrix an Allegory or Reality
Whether we’re exploring concepts of psychology, spirituality, and or philosophy, humanity may be tapping into something measurably real.
Diana Pasulka: Dark Night of the Soul, Jung, Heidegger, a Theories of Everything with Curt Jaimungal podcasts, asks many intriguing questions. Plato’s Cave allegory is the focus of this essay. In essence, you’re chained inside a cave. A light behind cast shadows on the cave walls, and you have been in the cave since birth. You think the shadows are real. One person escaped the cave and has come back saying, there’s a world outside the cave. The people watching shadows can’t hear you or believe you. Per Pasulka this may not be allegory. It may be reality.
I am of the opinion this is true. I have seen the light. Not a metaphorical thing, from my experiential perspective, though I think I am reasonable enough to accept alternative explanations. I can allow that there is a simulacrum in my brain that experiences reality after it’s filtered through my senses, and that alternative me could have a reality projected around it that would not be a consensus reality.
In other words, imagination can be very real. Maybe the mind is itself the cave wall.
