Isn't the problem more than just "BS or even flat-out lying..." What resume incorporates both the pros and the cons? We all have good and bad, but it is has become of social necessity to maximize strengths, and eliminate negatives. We live in a culture of fake positivity, only 'go getters' more akin to cheer leaders with pleasant smiles get noticed. Too often, when people point out genuine flaws with ideas or plans, they are dismissed as malcontents, as opposed logistician that want us to be aware of how one change may affect a multitude of things.

Even hiring/promoting within companies, more often than not it isn't people with competency being raised, but those who kissed ass best.
