Jung, Archetypes, and UFOs

You should be disturbed by the subject of UFOs. It doesn’t just bring out the crazies. It challenges the best of us- emotionally and intellectually. It forces us to confront our reality.

There are people who are uncomfortable with the subject of UFOs.

When we’re uncomfortable, we shut things down. We avoid it. We dismiss and ridicule it. We make jokes. We do anything to distance ourselves from it, and the people who might bring it to us. Carl Jung, widely known for having worked with Freud and coining the term “the Collective Unconscious,” embraced UFOs.

It’s safe to say, Jung was a fan of the paranormal. When it comes to UFOs the term ‘High Strangeness’ has been used to emphasize the peculiarly bizarre nature of this ‘thing’ we’re grappling with. Inevitably, when listening to UFOs experiencers, you’re going to hear things like levitating, telepathy, abductions, sex with aliens, hybrid children, time travel, and missing time. These are themes that go back to the dawn of historical man. You find them in our myths.
