Magnetic Highways and Portals to New Worlds

I am frequently surprised, maybe a little amused, when people dismiss concepts because of science, only for science to say it’s a real thing. I don’t see it as a point of ridicule, but a reminder that though we can know things, even with a degree of certainty, there is still room for error. There is evidence to support Nikola Tesla was a bit fringe, maybe even nutty, but then we also keep finding applications based on his work, and invoking his name in new products. Frank Scully, author of the 1950’s book, Behind the Flying Saucers, discussed magnetic highways that UFOs used for interstellar travel. That idea was scoffed at in the 1950s. ‘He doesn’t know science.’ Did anyone in the 1950s know science? Is today’s science yesterday’s dreams? Some scientist did know science, it’s how we advanced. Some scientist knew spirituality, it’s how we advanced! How many were shut out of science because their science didn’t agree with other scientist’s science? Like, maybe Wilhelm Reich and orgone energy?

A simple google search today will lead you to a score of articles from science magazine to NASA using that very term, ‘magnetic highways…’ Is it the same thing as Scully proposed in 1950s? Was he dismissed because UFOs were involved in his thinking process?
