It’s lazy to say humans are lazy when all humans take cognitive shortcuts in sorting reality. All of us could improve our sorting skills, but don’t think you’re an Olympian if you do gymnastics just to maintain the status quo. Reality is bigger than all of us.

Working in mental health technically makes me an expert within the specialized domain that I function in most of the time. There are those who are more or less capable. I am often impressed by the numbers that seem less capable. Hubris much? Perhaps. That’s something to sort, too. Then again, you probably want a confident counselor. Competence is associated with confidence. Recognizing there are archetypes and entities that exist outside of our primary domains leads you to discovering the world isn’t what you thought at all. Perhaps 1979 is a celebration of youth, the good and the bad of it. The social angst we all feel, regardless of where our youth fell out of the dark night as we became fallen stars roaming the land.
