In an interview with Jeremy Corbel, Leland Vittert asks are we trying to shoot down UFOs? Apparently, we are. Corbel again states that these hundreds of UFOs that swarmed a US Navy ship was not Chinese drones. They went into the water and emerged again. They were sometimes as high as 20,000 feet. They operated and performed with what seemed like inexhaustible fuel. Ships tried following them, but when they were gone, they were gone. The Navy has anti-drone technology. They can and do shoot down drones. Except these.

No one denies drones are a threat. There have been arguments made that the more distant humans are from killing people, the easier it becomes to kill people. Good enough reason to reconsider modern warfare? Even though we’re better at killing folks, we still have way too much collateral damage. We’re removing humans from the biological mechanism that might result in us de-escalating ourselves. More and more, we are allowing AI to assign targets. ‘Oh, authority says these are targets… Okay, take them out.’

Not humans, just targets.

There have been arguments against allowing drones utilizing combat AI from making war decisions. Presently, there still seems to be a human in the command chain, but how long will that be? A Google employee was dismissed for saying AI is sentient because AI…
