More than Something

“Something in the air: the increased attention to UFOs,” CBS Sunday Morning discussion, was uploaded maybe an hour ago to youtube. In regards to the upcoming disclosure report, my biggest take away was David Poques, news correspondent, speculating on SETI researcher Seth Shostak’s position on UFOs , “But no matter what that report winds up saying, Seth Shostak doubts it will change anyone’s mind.”

That is Likely True

You know how hard it is to change people’s mind? For example, I doubt anyone will persuade me aliens don’t exist. I will also admit, I am open enough to listening that the folks spinning the conspiracy that these things in the sky are legions of demons in the final end game of an upcoming apocalypse requires a great deal of energy on my part to ignore. My biggest argument against this phenomena being an adversary is that, if they wanted us gone, we’d been extinct a long time ago. Maybe they don’t want us extinct. That, too, could have some nefarious memes. Twilight Zone’s ‘How to Best Serve Man,’ strikes me as ironically scary.

Have you ever tried to persuade a flat earther into believing the world is round? Some of these folks are rather articulate and knowledgeable enough to almost be scholarly. I have not been persuaded, but I have…
