I have heard people ask, can planets be conscious? In that, there is a spiritualist view that planets have souls, just like people, animals. Another version of that is more mundane, that the web of life itself results in a biofeedback existence which regulates planetary conditions allowing for life to perpetuate. This idea keeps popping up. You can find the newest iteration of it below. In that, it address humans as being the bad guys. That’s an iteration I would like to see an end to.

Because the second article, found below, asks if the universe is a giant, self-learning computer. Self learning doesn’t denote sentience, but one could argue that is an attribute of sentience. Again, science is invoking the simulation theory. Hypothetically, if humans are part of a simulation that has one purpose, to learn and evolve, humans are not good or bad, they are simply programs designed to determine if this life modality is the optimum for self-regulating and perpetuating optimum life platforms for improving overall system functionality.

Humans aren’t bad guys. They’re either the model that will prove sustainability, or the obsolete model that will be phased out

There are a lot of assumptions to unpack in this. Life appears to be such a program. Data, information…
