The Aliens Among Us
When will humans discover aliens? When we realize they’ve been here all along.
The line drawn in the sand on what separates human from animals keeps moving. Many of the criteria are, have been, objectionable, clearly chalk full of human bias. One can’t create paper or smelt metals in an aquatic environment, and also, to do this one needs the equivalent of hands and opposable thumbs. Dolphins could be as smart or smarter than humans, but because of the criteria employed, few scientists will take the time to appreciate their distinctive disadvantage and create a non human styled school room. Perhaps we need affirmative actions for animals.
It’s not just that humans aren’t capable of relating to others, but perhaps some barriers require greater technology than even we have. Assuming dolphins are auditory learners, smart buoys might record language in the wild and allow dolphin an auditory mirror to hear themselves and interact with dolphin/human AI translators.
If AI can learn human language, even create their own language so fast and clear that scientists turn off the AI because they were intimidate by the tools ability to learn better than they, then why aren’t we employing the tech we have? Maybe there is an agenda to make us think we’re alone in the dark?
