The Contentious UFO Debate
Let’s start with, I find this challenging to write about. Partly because many of the folks I esteem are scientists, but mostly, I de-evolve into my old, sarcastically snarky self all too easily. Still, Carl Sagan, Bill Nye, Neil deGrasse Tyson, heroes all. When it comes to UFOs, the level of unnecessary vitriol seems evidence of a psychological phenomenon known as denial. It is one thing to say your interpretation of this data set is inaccurate, but when they haven’t even seen the data set- doesn’t that mean their statement is also equally invalid? Prior to 2017’s NYT piece, to a one scientists rallied- ‘not UFOs, not aliens.’ Since establishing UFOs are real, has there been even one scientist who publicly ridiculed an experiencer come forwards to say sorry?
People who have seen a craft know what they were seeing. Well, they’ don’t know, but they know what it isn’t!
I am not talking about misidentifying Venus. I am not talking about an obscure light going over head. I am not talking about Starlink satellite trains. I am talking about a hard, physical, object hovering in the air. People have seen disks. People have seen Walmart sized craft hovering and then shooting across the sky above treetops, without stirring a…
