The Queen of Forbidden Planet
This is essay is trivial, but hopefully fun. Oh, it’s also trivia! So, randomly, I just tuned into a move called the Queen from Outer Space. I don’t have hopes for it. I was just curious. I wasn’t even thinking about watching it in real time. I thought I would just blow through it. So I skipped in and stopped. The costumes were familiar. Wait! Is this Forbidden Planet? No, but it’s the same costumes!
Now, of course. I don’t expect you to take my word for it. Here you go.
Once again, either a ship full of men arrives at a planet with only one available woman, or it arrives at a planet that’s all women, no men. Both Forbidden and Queen are staffed with hungry men.
And Americans pick on Japanese Anime tropes! Hungry monster girls… Uh-um, cough. Moving on.
