Invisible Realities
Helen Sharman, an astrobiologist who is also an astronaut, has speculated there could be invisible entities that we don’t register because, “It’s Life, Jim, but not as we know it,” as Spock, Star Trek, is well known for saying. Her proposal isn’t as wild as something I will be suggesting to you in a moment, but it fun to consider the possibilities. Like, silicon is abundant, and so could there be silicon life on earth that we’ve overlooked?
It’s really not too difficult to think outside the box. In 2010, NASA found life that could thrive in arsenic. In fact, instead of phosphor in it’s DNA, it used arsenic. And when you consider Lee Cronin made metallic life, what’s to say nature couldn’t make metallic life on some planet out there, naturally? And since humans are a force of nature, does that make metallic life and future AI life- I don’t know… Life?
Of course, had I or any other ‘UFOlogist’ had suggested there was potentially invisible life all around us, well- they wouldn’t have called me a shadow biologist.
Why isn’t UFOs and Science friendly related subjects
Scientists actually think about alien life all the time. Like, here, in 2018:
