The thing is, birds and insects are not explanations when flying in a military jet. Not at the speeds they’re flying. Radar and targeting computers are not locking onto birds or insects. Consider the A320 piloted by Captain Sully that was set down in the Hudson. Air traffic control didn’t call Sully and say you have geese at your 12oclock. The commercial jets anti collision didnt sound off. Sully didn’t know there were birds in his path until they hit the windshield. A lot of birds. They took out both engines. Mind you, the anti collision radar worked. It chanted its obstacle alert as they passed over the bridge on their way to the Hudson. Our Navy pilots get into dog fights. If you lost your acquisition every time a bird or bug flew by, pilots would not survive combat situations.
