The Travis case is likely the most intriguing case, outside of Betty and Barny Hill. Unless you count the one in Africa, with the school kids. That was pretty amazing and enigmatic. I really like a line Bryce Zabel gave Barney in his TV series, not verbatim, (1960s setting) 'I am a black man, married to a white woman; I don't need to make up stuff to draw negative attention!'

I think the question 'why is alien abduction so hard' is the wrong question. The better question is why has there been so much malicious, contemptuous treatment to people who have shared and or researched abductions. John E Mack, for example, he got hell, and nearly lost his chair at Harvard, a tenured position. That alone should have bothered academics enough to rally on his side. The entire purpose of awarding tenured positions to people who demonstrated a certain level of scholarliness is so they can pursue knowledge without fear of being shunned! You might even ask, did Avi Loeb really step down from the top Harvard chair of physics, or was he quietly dismissed. So, Harvard learned their lesson from the previous attempt to remove a tenured, respected scientist!

The hate is so far above the normal response to 'just data' that you would almost speculate there is a subconscious vector being employed to intentionally keep people from pursuing knowledge. If John Leer was correct, it's not a few people being abducted- but rather, everyone gets abducted. People who are abducted are tranced out and given hypnotic commands at levels deeper than most hypnotist can achieve.

I would say its harder to get someone to look under the bed when they spent their whole life ignoring what's there. People don't discuss the elephant in the room. In my family, all conversations of paranormal were shut down fast. Persistence resulted in responses that were not warranted by the stimulus. I see that pattern in everyone I have seen trying to shut down this conversation. Did you see the old 60 Minutes interview with John E Mack? Paul Rodney McHugh ripped him to shreds. It was unnecessary. That wasn't honest discourse. That was contempt!
