Threatened, or renovated? Do we want to continue using LPs, or get away from vinyl and go digital? How do we progress when certain industries impede progress in favor of revenue? Take the potential of Tesla's phone, which supposedly will be solar powered, and suddenly you have liberated people from buying a pile of useless accessories. Sure, those people selling us all the new cables every time they change the plug will lose money, but won't that be better for the environment? Less clutter, less stuff being thrown away when upgrades invariably come?

Could telecommunication benefit from its loss of a monopoly, forced to evolve the same way consumers are supposed to evolve to accept what comes?
