UFOs and Extraordinary Evidence

When it comes to believing, seeing isn’t enough to bust through extraordinarily reinforced paradigms. We usually don’t realize what we got till it’s gone… Bye, bye, this Oumuamua Pie…

Sagan offered a good rule of thumb, extraordinary claims requires extraordinary evidence. As a rule, it’s so good that people stopped trusting deduction, intuition, and what’s right in front of their eyes. Oumuamua quacked and looked like a duck. One scientist called it out. Goose! He reports being chastised. Of course he was chased around the camp fire. He said goose! He responded with a tempered maxim, if we only look for extraordinary, we will miss the ordinary. Is there hope we might start seeing what’s right in front of us? NOPE.

When shown UFOs that defied physics, “nope, can’t be. Clearly nothing does that.” It didn’t even occur to this certain scientist that maybe he, other scientists, and maybe even all of us, have this all wrong. He dismissed these scientists the way other scientists dismissed him. When he call Oumuamua alien, others quoted Sagan. Recently, in dismissing those Ukranian UFOs, he quoted Sagan. Did anyone remind him of his tempered Sagan response? If you only look for extraordinary, you will miss…
