UFOs and Human Blindness

There is a literal blindness, and saturation blindness. When it comes to UFOs, humans may be experiencing the ‘deer in the headlights’ phenomenon.

I may be coming at this sideways. You may find my argument specious. That said, there is truth to what I am about to share. Let’s start with the Doorway Effect. Memory is as much about context than actual recall, hence why the Memory Palace is so effective as an aide. If you have a thought in one room, but cross the threshold going from kitchen, to living room, to bedroom and you suddenly forgot what you came for, you’re normal. The thought was in context to the kitchen. Retrace your steps, re-engage the activity, and you will find your missing thought. And the UFOs.

Saturation blindness is not limited to smells and sounds. There can be things in the environment that are visible but you don’t see them because you’re acclimated. Smells are the most common experience of this. You enter a place and smell the cookies baking, but after ten minutes your saturation threshold is met, and it turns off. The smell didn’t go away, you’re just not paying attention it.
