Ugh?! I misspelled my own name? OMG, I can’t even find it!
Oh well. I am not sure yet how the whole affair will play out. So, hypothetically, I can run a support group without having a license… Pretty sure on that, because it’s not therapy. I am a therapist, and I imagine I have to run the group in accordance with the highest proficiency and expectation level due to that governance of license which defines all expectations. This might preclude having others from outside of Texas, because I can’t counsel outside of that doman.
It would be super nice if the Federal Government made all LPC licenses whole, or reciprocal, in all fifty states, as some states are short counselors. Alaska, for example.
I probably don’t have to address being a Medium writer, but I thought it important to do so. Transparency is evidence of good faith. Anyone using google can find me. I have a huge footprint! Could I write on a matter that was discussed in a group without breaking confidentiality, well, sure, but the group would know, and that raises ethical concerns, and so it’s best just to avoid that all together. I am confident if someone spoke something I will find reference to it in some UFO source somewhere, or something very similar, and can expound indirectly quoting from other sources.
There are lots of things available to experiencers, and researchers, that identify validity. These things aren’t openly discussed because it’s a measure that lends confidence to the testimony. If a person is making it up, drawing on UFO books and or fiction, I am likely to catch on because of my familiarity with fiction and sources. It’s when people say something that is not known that it starts to get interesting.
And it almost invariably starts with, “I know this sounds crazy, but…” which usually follows with a detail they don’t share often because they’re right… The reality of this often sounds nuts.
I suppose if there is greater demand from other states, I can hold more than one meeting. An open group could be attended by anyone, and so in all honesty, I am probably not going to police that to a significant degree. A closed group would be by invitation only.
