Well, unfortunately, it seems like even that is gated. Have you heard of the Invisible College, Jacques Vallée? It exists and things sometimes get leaked out, but seriously to get in that group- you have to have some credentials. You will find good people working at MUFON and NUFORC, but I haven't met any Gary Nolan, PhD multiple patents studying brain artifacts associated with experiencers and metamaterials just because they made so much money with their inventions and patents that they do UFOs for fun. And you're right, real scientists are pretty busy keeping the grants coming in, and so probably don't have the luxury to have hobbies... Except, I bet they get paid more than I do in community mental health, and I find time for hobbies, like writing and field investigating UFO sightings, and playing minecraft with my son remotely. So... I don't know. Have you tried joining your local MUFON chapter?
