Thanks to Johnmooner Chief for this one. United States Imposes A No-fly Zone On The Moon…..what ??? medium article is worth a look, and further scrutiny. This is where I get to show my ignorance. Ignorance, contrary to popular belief, is okay. Ignorance can be corrected. Stupid can’t. If no one legally owns the moon, why would Congress waste time and money passing laws they can’t physically, economically, and or morally enforce?
Back in the day, I watched this show called Salvage 1, which was really kind of fun. A man who owned a junkyard had a dream to go to the moon, salvage all the junk we left up there, bring it back, and sell it! If they had just left that made for tv movie as that, it might not have died in obscurity, but they went and made a series that killed it in an incomplete season. The second episode, they tried to salvage an iceberg to give Las Angeles some extra drinking water.
This is not relevant: I can still hear the theme music in my head, along with the mission statement. Clearly I was impressionable youngling. Or I have a great auditory memory.
