Yeah, there is some lamenting over the qualities of most photos. The most available camera is likely the phone, and depending on multiple variables, the camera may alter the focus. It would be interesting if a hypothetical advanced technology was interfacing with our technology to intentionally blur images. So, if you consider that the number of blurry images has increased since we went to digital photography, compared to film... that would be an interesting study!
There were good photos of objects caught on film. The August 4, 1990, two hikers near Calvine in Scotland took a photograph of a UFO, and it is likely the best photo ever, and of course, government got a hold of it and the original was lost.
