You know what might be fun, letting civilians purchase rover-avatars to explore the moon and Mars remotely. People forget just how many objects are found by amateur astronomers. Let's open the flood gates and let everyone explore. What would we find if a thousand rovers roamed a land, with me in my lounge chair directing my own mission? All my curious rocks uploaded to the Amateur Avatar Rover page for all people, even scientist. Heck, just sampling what lay people are curious about could be a science in itself- which if analyzed, could be more grant money when scientist start looking at things most people want to see
Like rat rocks on Mars, and Pyramid tops and... Not saying it is, but if amateurs had control of the rover- what would we find? Aren't most fossil initially found by amateurs?
Thinking bigger might be letting more people play.
