the Electric Soul
My friend, Doctor Bob, inspired this essay. We have been friends for a moment. He is a retired psychiatrist, living in California. Me, I’m a crazy counselor exploring the world of Tulpas, in Texas. Since meeting virtually, we have shared a lovely correspondence in which I have benefitted tremendously. Along with his thoughts and insights, he has sent me esoteric, existential books written by hippies from days gone by. Ahh, I really want to be in a hippy commune of my own! Well, doesn’t that just beat all. I think it was only yesterday that I was speculating electromagnetism is likely an analog for soul, but not the actual soul. We have a physical body. We have an electrical body. I suspect a soul body. Maybe even a ‘consciousness’ body? Doesn’t consciousness, by convention, need a point of reference in order to communicate concepts?
Do you think about thinking? Do you think about consciousness? It seems like we tend to avoid consciousness discussions in general. We talk about conscious and unconscious motivators, more likely when you’re in front of a counselor. It’s clear that we frequently think, feel, and behave due to unrecognized influencers of meaning.
