Mental Health
Sometimes, I write light hearted humor, as evidenced by rambling about how the Wizard of Oz influenced me. And sometimes, I venture into a more serious domain that I think about daily. It is my opinion that society could be more deliberate and proactive in the prescription of mental health care, as many problems society experiences starts here. Many problems could be avoided if we simply just listened to people in a more earnest, compassionate way. This is not an essay to address that. I probably get way to arrogantly preachy when I go there. I am hopeful this helps individuals sort real concerns when they consider their own mental health decisions. We are all making decisions daily that will either contribute towards well being, or leading to a crisis. That’s just being human.
Though I may try to interject humor, Mental Health is a serious issue for all humans. In article related to how COVID has affected the mental health of teens in Texas, there is a call for billions in Federal Aide. What I like about the article is that it recognizes we need to do more for all people in our communities. Texas is known as a pull yourself up by your own bootstraps state.
